meet the founder
My name is Sam and I am the founder of sam wilson training. I have been in love with movement for as long as i can remember. I grew up as a competitive dancer and gymnast and have always loved pushing my body to its limits.
Fascination with the human body and its potential had me running to a career in personal training. In my time training on the floor, i focused on injury prevention and rehabilitation. As much as I love training athletes and maximizing sport performance, nothing feels better than helping a client discover potential they didn’t know they could achieve and regain their life back better than it was before.
My own fitness journey has varied drastically over the years and has shaped my role as a coach. My training has shifted from body composition goals to brazillian jiu jitsu strength training to maximizing my health and well being.
In 2022, my health took a serious decline. I struggled with myalegic encephalitis (CFS), caused by endometriosis, and was unable to exercise for over a year. I went from training 6 days a week to struggling to walk up the stairs. I had to completely reframe my ideology when it came to health and fitness and start to really listen to my body. I am a firm believer that big challenges create the biggest growth, if you let it. I began listening to my body and balancing my life. Fitness is still a huge part of my life, but it is not the most important aspect.
I am now helping other women learn how to form a sustainable and truly healthy approach to fitness and nutrition. We still train hard and make big gains, but without the sacrifice of your mental, social, and physical wellness.
